The Sourcers Cabinet

The public space as exhibition or spectacle has historically been used to humiliate and dehumanize African people in general, and woman of African decent in particular. Temporally, I subvert this space by turning it into one of healing, a monument, a memorial through integrating ancient practices with contemporary agency. In creating the Sourcer’s Cabinet, I expose the ancient tools of healing while reference how contemporary pain is rooted in the past.
